General Information Websites

  1. PlasticsResource.com A website maintained by the American Plastics Council that contains general information on polymers, including how they are made, recycling, and disposal. Contains links to other polymer related websites.

  2. Polymerupdate.com A megasite of polymer information. Contains company profiles, polymer prices, job oportunities, current news about polymers, and links to other polymer sites.

  3. Polysort.com Another megasite of polymer information, including employment ads, company profiles, and alot of links to other polymer related websites.

  4. Plastics.com A site that just launched in June of 2000. Promises to cover polymer news and provide services to people that become members at their web site.

  5. British Plastics and Rubber Online A listing of the companies in the UK that work with plastics and also has current news and links to other sites that primarily deal with processing issues with polymers.

  6. ACS Rubber Division Webpage of the ACS rubber division. Contains links to other rubber sites.

  7. NIST Chemistry Webbook An online chemical data book that includes polymers.

Polymer Education

  1. Case-Western Reserve Virtual Textbook A nice website that gives an introduction to polymers and liquid crystals.

  2. Glossary of Polymer Science Terms Basic terms of polymer science are defined and divided in three groups: molecules and molecular structure, substances comprised of monomers, polymers and copolymers, and polymer reactions.

  3. Polymers and People An illustrated history of polymer science from the development of colloids to the current frontiers of polymer science.

  4. The Macrogalleria A website about polymers and polymer science.

Microscopy

  1. Optical Microscopy Primer A site dedicated to optical microscopy located at Florida State University. Includes galleries of images, discussions of microscopy, and links to other microscopy sites.
